Eagles JV Basketball Soar to Start the Season

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO – The JV boys basketball team at Eagle Ridge Christian School has kick-started their season with an impressive display of skill and teamwork, securing victories in their first two matchups against Immanuel Lutheran and St. Paul (Jackson, MO). The young Eagles are now gearing up for their next challenge against St. Vincent Perryville on Monday, November 21st, at 6:15 PM.

In their recent triumph over St. Paul, standout performances were abundant. Zach Mellies led the scoring charge with 11 points, complemented by his all-around contribution of 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists. His on-court awareness and agility were crucial in navigating the team’s offensive strategies.

Ethan Janssens, a key player under the rim, dominated the boards with 11 rebounds while adding 8 points and 3 assists to the tally. His ability to read the game and be in the right place at the right time proved invaluable for the Eagles.

Landen Curry also made significant contributions, scoring 9 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. His 3 steals were indicative of the team’s aggressive defense, which has been a cornerstone of their early-season success.
