It was an exciting weekend for Eagle Ridge athletics, as both the volleyball and boys soccer teams had strong showings at their respective MAC Conference tournaments.
The Lady Eagles volleyball squad battled all the way to the championship match before finishing as runners-up. They swept their early opponents before finally being topped in the finals by a talented St. Dominic team.
“I’m so proud of how hard our girls fought this weekend,” said head coach Kristen Martin. “They represented Eagle Ridge with class and determination.”
The boys soccer team also had a dramatic run, beating Crosspoint in penalty kicks in the 3rd place game to capture 3rd in the tournament. After falling in the semis, they refocused and prevailed in PKs to earn the podium finish.
“It was a total team effort to edge out Crosspoint,” commented soccer coach Heath Stengler. “I’m thrilled with how we finished the season.”
Congratulations to our two teams for bringing home hardware and a podium finish for the MAC Tournament. Eagle Ridge is so proud of your accomplishments. Next up is Joplin State Tournament , time to take these accomplishments and build on it the next couple weeks! Go Eagles!
