The Eagle Ridge volleyball team is moving on in the MAC conference playoffs after sweeping St. Louis Christian Academy 3-0 last night. They took the match with set scores of 25-9, 25-23, and 25-13.
The Lady Eagles dominated the first set with their aces and kills by the upperclassmen before St. Louis made things close in the second. The Crusaders did not just roll over in the 2nd match but instead battled to make it a 2 point game. But Eagle Ridge regained control in the third set to clinch the victory behind strong serving and net play.
Both volleyball and boys soccer will be competing today in the second and third rounds of their respective MAC tournaments.
The Eagles soccer squad plays at 10am and 1pm in St. Louis. Volleyball will also be in action at 10am and 1pm as they aim to keep their playoff hopes alive.
“We’re feeling confident and ready to battle today,” said soccer coach Heath Stengler. “I know our teams are excited for the challenge.”
Let’s wish our Eagles student-athletes the best of luck as they fight for a MAC conference championship! Go Eagles!
